I have a theoretical mental model that helps me take more meaningful actions. Becoming aware and conscious of what is most important lets you gain clarity when making choices. I hope to convince you to craft a model on your own and benefit from the process.

You have... what?!

[ intro ]

Building a simplistic mathematical model for a seemingly complicated problem or phenomenon has been a very successful strategy in the fields of physics, mathematics, computer technology, and science in general. It helps to understand the essence of many things by "overlooking" their real-life complexities. This model aims to do exactly that.

I have been using this method for some time now with results I am happy with. And by using, I mean three things:

A. building B. populating

and then as well:

C. using

There is more clarity in a decluttered mind, and it is a bit easier to choose more meaningful things over more "idle" ones. These small bits add over time.

It seems that these small choices cause a butterfly effect and lead to things that wouldn't happen otherwise.

Even if the change means as little as modifying one sentence a week.

ONE

1. Show me the model.

[ model building ]

The first thing to do is to define sets that are the foundation of the model (A). After that, we need an easy algorithm for populating the sets (B). In the third part, you will see sample results from running the algorithm (C).

Imagine we have three collections of things. I will be calling them sets.

CORE VALUES - set of core personal values

RESOURCES - set resources that are the building blocks of CORE VALUES

ACTIONS - set or actions. These are the activities in which you ackquire more RESOURCES.
